Aren’t I the lucky one? I come back home to find a parcel of treats waiting for me from the lovely Freya of Writing at the Kitchen Table! She was the kind soul who sent me a box of “Her Favourite Things” for this round of Blogging by Mail.

I’ve taken a photo of my haul….but my beautiful new laptop won’t let me upload the photos just yet…..but as soon as the Technical God (aka HM) sorts that out, I will let all you take a peek and describe in detail, so that you can be very jealous of all those wonderful goodies!

"Snow Day" in July

Due to the awful explosion in midtown (thank goodness so few people were injured!), I have an unexpected day off today. I promptly called The Suz to rub in the fact that I, in fact, have a “snow day” today…but that she still has to go to work! [ I only did this because she *loves* to call me and tell me when she gets a day off due to the snowy New England weather….]

So now….how to spend an unexpected day to myself….

Why, cooking and baking and running around town to pick up the rest of the goodies for my Blogging By Mail “My Favorite Things” package of course!

I’m not giving anything away just yet…but I will be heading to Midtown East and to Chelsea and to the Lower East Side in my quest for things to include…..more hints to come!

Jumping Back in with Blogging By Mail!

I haven’t been posting (isn’t it crazy to think I have actually been too busy to write and post these past few months?!)…but I have been busy keeping notes and ideas to go back flesh out and post now that my summer days are a bit more free…

And I can’t think of a more fun way to jump back in than by mailing a package of “My Favorite Things” to a fellow blogger!

I’m off to shop and start putting my package together….then the updates and posts will begin!

I hope you all have been having a wonderful summer so far….

Hay Hay It’s Donna Day! Cheesecake All The Way!

This is an awful, blurry photo (By god, does anyone else think I need a better camera?! Especially for those close-up shots????……anyway…) of what is actually a really cool looking cake.

Peabody over at Culinary Concotions is hosting this round of Hay Hay it’s Donna Day! And this go round it’s Chessecake! I will admit to being a bit behind in my Donna Hay knowledge as I should be–I really only started hearing of her when I entered the food blog world…but the event has always sounded like such fun I was happy I was able to take part this time. To see all those luscious cheesecake entries–all with better photos than mine, I’m sure! *smile*–go here.
